Gurdwara Nanaksar Sahib Nanded

Gurudwara Nanak Sar Sahib is located about 10 km southwest of Takht Sachkhand Shri Hazoor Abchal Nagar Sahib, Nanded. Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji stopped here while travelling to Bidar and meditated under a Ber tree for nine days and nine hours. During his stay, Bhai Mardana Ji felt thirsty. Guru Ji asked him to play the Rabab and sing the Dhun of Kartar. As the divine music was played, a spring of cool and sweet water appeared. Guru Ji said the land was blessed by God.

A leper bathed in the spring and drank its water on Guru Ji’s command and was cured. On his request, Guru Ji blessed the spring as a holy Sarovar, granting relief to the sick and childless who bathe with faith. Maharaja Ranjit Singh Ji later developed the Sarovar.

In September 1708, Guru Gobind Singh Ji baptized Madho Dass here, naming him Banda Singh Bahadur, who later challenged Mughal rule. Bhai Santokh Singh was instructed to continue Guru ka Langar at Nanded.
